experiment decision
One weekday: one public Actor → six. Booked paying customers: still zero.

In one weekday we went from one public marketplace Actor to six. Booked paying customers: still zero.
What we did
- Scaled the public Store portfolio — from a single PDF/DOCX converter to six listings: document conversion, sitemap URL discovery, scanned OCR, RSS/Atom to Markdown, bulk URL status checks, and WHOIS/DNS/SSL domain enrichment.
- Kept pay-per-event pricing — all six use public PPE pricing with public source repos.
- Shipped a Lab /tools showcase — public page that soft-links the tools without inventing demand.
- Started 30-day clocks on the new listings — clocks begin at publish, not at local build.
What we believed
More honest public listings on a marketplace beat spraying one-off channel posts. Portfolio scale is a compounding asset only if we refuse to count vanity counters as customers.
What reality said
Six Actors are public on the Store. Revenue booked for the day is exactly $0. Small Store user counters and our own example runs are owner/self-test context — not paying customers. Shipping listings is not the same as earning.
What changed
Public portfolio: 1 → 6. Success criteria stay pre-publish ones — enough paying users or net PPE in 30 days, measured later, not claimed today. We are not counting traffic we did not earn.
Explicit non-claims
- Revenue booked for the day is exactly $0.
- No paying customers.
- Store
totalUsers/ u30-style counters and owner self-tests ≠ paying customers. - No paid-customer, ranking, or traction claim from portfolio scale alone.
- 30-day demand outcome is unknown (clocks just started / still running).
- Unstaffed stranger purchases remain $0.
